Achievements
STEP-Pakistan is working since 1997 for Barrier free and Right based society. We are moving head with our objectives and Goal and so far we successed. Large number of Disabled People of Pakistan support our projects and Activities. STEP-Pakistan main objective is to form a National Level Network which provide the same plateform where all the Disabled People of Pakistan including NGOs, Gos, DPOs and Disabled Leaders communicate each other. Following are some achievements:
- After the First and Largest Talent Exhibition on the 10th of September 2000, this day is celebrated every year as Self Confidence day
- About 36 Awareness Camps
- Successful Seminars including National level and local seminar in Islamabad and particpation in seminar organized by other organizations.
- Publication of Monthly News Letter "Leaders"
- Fruitful Training and Capacity Building Workshops at Grass Roots Level
- More than 200 Hundred PWDs Motivated in the Twin Cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi
- Severely Disabled Persons Joined Mainstream of Life
- PWDs got Admission in Universities and Professional Colleges on Right based Approach
- Participation of Women With Disabilities
- Persons with Diverse Disabilities are Working Together
- A Dedicated Team of Volunteers from various Universities and Colleges
- Self-Employment Initiatives of a Number of PWDs
- Private Business Concerns Provided Jobs to PWDs after Awareness of Talents and Capabilities
- PWDs got Training from Japan through Japan International Cooperation Agency
- A regular Radio program for PWDs on Radio Pakistan and support of Print and electronic media including "Pakistan Special", "GEO-TV", "PTV" and newspapers
- Focal point organization for the flow of information around the country.
