Recognize that while an estimated 1 million persons with disabilities have the capacity to contribute to national development and have increasingly become agents of change in their communities through their collective action, the majority of persons with disabilities are still excluded from education, employment and other economic and social opportunities and constitutes some 20 per cent of the poorest people, STEP Network of Pakistan is committed to play an active role in the implementation of the National Policy for Disabled 2002 through integrated efforts and anticipating that the Ministry of Women Development, Social Welfare and Special Education will include Leaders of PWDs in Decision-making processes

Following are the projects launched by STEP-Pakistan
- Launched Information and Resoucrce Center on Disability in Islamabad
- First and Largest Yahoo group "disabilitytheme" launched in 18 March 2004.
- Many awareness program related to Education, Jobs etc of Persons with Disabilities.
- Launched Independent Living Movement in year 2002.
- Working on Mobility of People of Pakistan.
- Working on Accessible society for Persons with Disabilities in Pakistan with self and associated organization
- Several Projects related to Multimedia CDs.
- A Monthly news letter with named "Leader".
- Main supporter of "Pakistan Special"
