Legal Consultant for Inclusive Voices Project – STEP
The Special Talent Exchange Program (STEP) is hiring a Legal Consultant for the Inclusive Voices Project to review and analyze national and international policies on gender, climate change, and inclusivity from the perspective of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs). The consultant will perform a comprehensive gap analysis and provide actionable recommendations to align these policies with global frameworks like the UNCRPD and SDGs.
Key Responsibilities of the Legal Consultant
- Policy Review & Analysis: Evaluate existing policies for their inclusivity of PWDs, ensuring alignment with international frameworks such as UNCRPD and the SDGs.
- Gap Analysis: Identify gaps and barriers that hinder the participation of PWDs in gender and climate change policies.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with government bodies, civil society organizations (CSOs), and disability advocates to gather insights and inputs.
- Recommendations: Provide actionable recommendations to improve policy inclusivity and accessibility for PWDs.
- Reporting & Advocacy: Draft a detailed report and create advocacy materials to promote awareness and stimulate dialogue among stakeholders.
Expected Deliverables
- A comprehensive gap analysis report and policy review.
- Policy recommendations tailored to both local and international contexts.
- Advocacy materials such as policy briefs and presentations to engage key stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Law, Public Policy, or related fields.
- At least 5 years of experience in policy analysis, specifically in gender, climate change, or disability rights.
- Expertise in disability-inclusive frameworks like UNCRPD and SDGs.
- Proven experience in stakeholder engagement and advocacy.
- Excellent research and communication skills, with proficiency in English (knowledge of Urdu is a plus).
