The National Wheelchair Cricket Tournament, a groundbreaking event, was organized by the Special Talent Exchange Program (STEP) in collaboration with SAAYA Association, Pakistan Youth Alliance, and Milestone Society for Special Persons. This landmark tournament brought together wheelchair users from across Pakistan to showcase their talents and promote inclusivity in sports.

Participating Teams

Eight teams of wheelchair users from various cities of Pakistan participated in the tournament. The competition fostered a spirit of camaraderie and showcased the exceptional talents of the athletes, emphasizing the importance of accessibility in sports.


The tournament was generously sponsored by several esteemed organizations, including: SAMAA TV, Nestle Pakistan, Telenor Pakistan, One TV, Sightsavers Pakistan, Rose Petal, Real FM91, HR Catering Service, Leonard Cheshire Disability, Dolphin Communication, and Waseb TV

Their support was crucial in making the event a resounding success, providing resources and coverage that elevated the tournament’s profile.

Event Details

The tournament was held at the Quaid-e-Azam Sports Complex in Islamabad on the 6th and 7th of February, 2010. The state-of-the-art facilities at the complex ensured that all participants had access to the necessary accommodations, promoting an inclusive environment for both players and spectators.


The National Wheelchair Users Cricket Tournament was a significant step towards promoting sports inclusivity and empowering athletes with disabilities in Pakistan.
