Objective
The Special Talent Exchange Program (STEP) is seeking a Policy and Legal Consultant to develop a Compendium of Disability Laws and Policies. This consultant will also be responsible for creating quarterly supplemental tools and resources, as well as engaging with key stakeholders to promote disability-inclusive governance in Pakistan.
Key Responsibilities
Develop Compendium of Disability Laws and Policies
- Review national and international disability laws and compile a comprehensive compendium to promote better understanding and accessibility.
Design and Distribute Supplemental Tools and Resources
- Develop and share quarterly tools and resources to engage trained alumni and stakeholders effectively.
Facilitate Consultative Workshops
- Organize and conduct workshops to finalize the compendium, involving key stakeholders such as NCSW, MOHR, ECP, NADRA, PEMRA, and leading disability rights advocates.
Advocacy and Awareness
- Work with STEP to create and disseminate accessible advocacy materials, including policy briefs and presentations to raise awareness on disability-inclusive governance.
Expected Deliverables
- Compendium of Disability Laws and Policies: A finalized document compiling national and international laws.
- Quarterly Tools and Resources: Tools and resources to support alumni and stakeholders.
- Workshop Report: A report summarizing stakeholder inputs, feedback, and recommendations.
- Advocacy Materials: Accessible advocacy materials such as policy briefs and presentations.
Required Qualifications
- Educational Background: Advanced degree in Law or Public Policy.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in legal research, policy development, and disability rights.
- Skills:
- Expertise in disability rights and inclusive frameworks (e.g., UNCRPD).
- Strong research, stakeholder engagement, and workshop facilitation skills.
